In the treatment of active acne and pimple marks, the main aim is oil control, and desquamation - removing the top layer of the skin. 

Salicylic acids peels are lipophilic and can penetrate to the sebaceous units, thereby achieving strong comedolytic effect. Its anti inflammatory effect also rapidly decreases redness of active breakouts. 

Trichloracetic acids (TCA) peel is a strong peel. When it is used in a low concentration, it coagulates epidermal and dermal proteins, and causes necrosis of collagen up to the upper reticular dermis. The subsequent re-epithelisation results increase in dermal volume of collagen, glycosaminoglycans and elastin, which can be used as a resurfacing peel for acne scarring. 

Do expect some peeling for acne peels, but it shouldn't last more than a week!
